A platform video game in the Super Mario series, Super Mario 3D Land was developed and published by Nintendo for their Nintendo 3DS handheld game console. The game is part of the Super Mario franchise. Beginning in Japan in November of 2011, it was made available everywhere else in the world. It was the very first Mario game to be made available for the Nintendo 3DS system.
