In Elden Ring, Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow is a sub-region that can be found directly to the north of where Caelid proper begins. On this page, you will find an overview of the region, which details the primary dungeons, bosses, loot, and secrets that can be discovered in this area.
The area known as Dragonbarrow got its name from the large number of dragons that make their homes in this section of land. These dragons have made their home in the mountains and plateaus of Dragonbarrow, where they are safe from the devastation caused by the Scarlet Rot that has afflicted the lands of Caelid to the south.
There are three ways to get to Dragonbarrow; you can either make your way there through the alleyways of Sellia, the Town of Sorcery in Caelid, take the lift up from Siofra River, or teleport to the Bestial Sanctum from East Limgrave. All of these options are available to you. Regarding the former, a Spiritspring Jump location will be located just before the Church of the Plague.
This area features a few straightforward dungeons, a few optional quests, and a few bosses that wander around. In addition, this part of the world is home to the Divine Tower of Caelid, which is the location where the Great Rune of Radahn can be repaired.
Dragonbarrow Map Stele Locations
It is necessary for you to acquire two Map Fragments from the Steles that are located in Caelid proper and Dragonbarrow in order to uncover the specifics and topography of the entire Caelid region.
Just a short distance to the east of the Dragonbarrow West Site of Grace can be found the Dragonbarrow Map Fragment. It can be found along the main road in Dragonbarrow. There are likely to be one or two juvenile dragons wandering around the shallow waters.
Dragonbarrow World Bosses and Invasions
There are a variety of roaming World Bosses that can be found in Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow, and a couple of them are only accessible during the night. There is not a single NPC Invasion taking place in this region.

Great-Jar The Great-Jar is located in front of the entrance to the Colosseum, to the north of the Deep Siofra River Well. You won’t get a response from the Great-Jar if you try to talk to him, but you can summon him by activating the three red Summoning Signs that are in front of him. Each one will give birth to a Knight of the Great-Jar, an invading foe that is equipped with a random assortment of abilities and gear and frequently possesses powerful firearms and spells at their disposal. You will not be able to acquire the Great-Arsenal Jar’s Talisman until each of these NPC Invaders has been vanquished individually.
The Gurranqt Beast Clergy Man is a special non-player character who works as a trader and can be found in the Bestial Sanctum. Gurranq, who is never satisfied with his consumption of deathroot, will barter a wide variety of incantations, weapons, and other items with you in exchange for deathroot.

Isolated Merchant’s Shack
On the highest point of the most westerly plateau in the sub-region is where you’ll find the Dragonbarrow Isolated Merchant’s Shack. Outside of the Isolated Merchant’s Shack, a Bell Bearing Hunter Field Boss will spawn each night when the sun goes down.
The most effective method for producing him is to go to the Site of Grace, go inside the shack there, wait until nightfall, then go inside again and wait some more before going outside. Until you have defeated this boss, the Isolated Merchant will not spawn when it is nighttime. In addition, there is a Tear Drop Scarab that can be found on a nearby cliff. When it is killed, it will drop the Ash of War: Skyshot.
Deep Siofra Well
This particular well does not warrant a great deal of discussion beyond the fact that it is the conduit by which the subterranean Siofra River can be reached from the continent of Caelid. Additionally, the Grace Site at Deep Siofra Well is the Grace Site that is located the closest to the Colosseum to the north.
The Great-Jar
After you have vanquished the three NPC Invaders, the Great-Jar is the only NPC that will speak to you and will give you a talisman as a reward for your efforts. In order to simulate the experience of fighting an actual player invader, the NPC Invaders are always chosen at random.
You are only able to call forth and battle a single creature at a time; the signs for calling forth creatures can be found directly in front of The Great-Jar. After you have vanquished all three, you will be rewarded with the Great-Arsenal Jar’s talisman, which will enable you to carry a significantly larger amount of equipment.
Greyoll’s Roost
This location can be found directly outside of Fort Faroth, despite the fact that it is not marked on the map. Your previous encounters with dragons pale in comparison to Greyoll, an enormous elder dragon who towers over them all. She is mostly motionless and is encircled by five other, smaller dragons, which are most likely her offspring.
If you choose to only attack Greyoll, it will take you quite some time to defeat her because she has a large health pool. You are able to accomplish this by attacking her left side, which is protected by her wing and therefore immune to attack from her children. The other strategy is to eliminate the five lesser dragons that are surrounding her; eliminating just one of them will deal 1/5 of the total damage to her.
When Greyoll is killed, the player receives five times the normal amount of Dragon Hearts, and the Elden Dragon Greyoll’s Roar incantation is unlocked in the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid.
You can also find some materials for upgrades on top of the enormous skull that is located close to her location. Using the Spiritspring that is located below it, you can make your way up there.
Fort Faroth
The once-active fort known as Fort Faroth is now home to a population of vampire bats and crone vampires. Make it a point to visit the Site of Grace before going inside the temple. As soon as you step inside, you will see a number of vampire bats and crone bats roosting all over the floor and hanging from the ceiling.
If you engage in combat with them on your own, despite their low strength, you run the risk of being overwhelmed by the attacks and poison clouds they release. It is highly recommended that you call forth a Spirit Ash in order to investigate this area.
A number of spectral Redmane Soldiers, armed with a variety of different types of weapons, can be seen on the roof of the fort. After you have eliminated all of the foes in the area, return to the lower level and continue your search for additional treasure by opening chests until you find the Dectus Medallion (Right).
The first hole you come across will take you back to the location where you engaged in combat with the horde of vampire mobs. Following the second hole will bring you to a wooden platform where there are rats concealed behind some boxes. From the location where you find the first rat, there is a set of platforms that you can jump on; however, you should be wary of the enormous rat that is hiding around the corner and waiting to ambush you. Use the ladder to descend, then proceed to the body on the floor to retrieve the legendary talisman known as the Radagon Soreseal.
Lenne’s Rise
Lenne’s Rise can be found directly east of the Minor Erdtree, slightly below the bridge that links the plateau of the Bestial Sanctum to the main body of land that makes up Dragonbarrow, and to the north of the Minor Erdtree. The entrance to the tower is protected by a magical barrier; however, it is still possible to enter by making use of the nearby Spiritspring and making your way to the eastern balcony. If that turns out to be too difficult, you always have the option of landing on the roof of Lenne’s Rise and sliding down from there.
The interior of the tower is not particularly complicated to navigate. Ride the lift to the top, then open the chest to retrieve the Memory Stone.
Bestial Sanctum
You will be teleported to the Bestial Sanctum after speaking with D, Hunter of the Dead, and travelling through the Waygate in East Limgrave. This means that the Bestial Sanctum may be the first location in Dragonbarrow that players visit.
An NPC named Gurranq, the Beast Clergyman, who is always eager to eat death, can be found in this area. In exchange for a variety of different items, he will accept deathroot from you. Be very careful around Gurranq after you have given him the fourth Deathroot, as he will become hostile. Before you can have any further interaction with him, you will first need to deal a certain amount of damage to him in order to calm him down.
Defeating the field boss Black Blade Kindred early in the game can be difficult because he is located outside of the Bestial Sanctum and is guarding the entrance to the refuge.
You will find the Dragoncrest Shield Talisman on the level that is the lowest point of the structure that is located below the cliffs that surround the Bestial Sanctum. In order to descend, you will have to make your way down the large roots that are located to the west of the bestial sanctum.
You will need to move carefully down the structures from there until you find some Vampire Bats and Sanctuary Stones strewn about on the ground; you will want to remain in this corner and jump down while hugging the cliffs. Carry on moving across the platform, and when you reach the dead creature, grab the Cinqueda from its corpse. The body of the noble who was carrying the Dragoncrest Talisman was found not far from here.
Dragonbarrow Scarab Location
As you make your way through this area, you might come across a few scarabs dashing off in different directions. There are some of them that will refill your flask of tears, while others can reward you with unique items.
Isolated Merchant’s Shack Scarab
- Reward: Ash of War – Skyshot
This scarab can be found a short distance to the north-northwest of the Isolated Merchant’s Shack, close to the edge of the cliffs that lead down to the ravine below.
Farum Greatbridge Scarab
- Reward: Somber Smithing Stone 9
The Bestial Sanctum can be found in the far northeastern corner of Dragonbarrow, and just below it is a Greatbridge that is guarded by an enormous dragon. On the northern side of the bridge, there is a rock area to the west that contains a series of pillars that are packed with animal bones in a compact cluster. A scarab can be found hiding among the bones.
