Elden Ring Guide – East Limgrave – Dungeons, Points of Interest, and Secrets

Within Limgrave, East Limgrave is the Limgrave sub-region that takes up the least amount of space in Elden Ring. On this page, you will find an overview of the region, which details the primary dungeons, bosses, loot, and secrets that can be discovered in this area.

East Limgrave is easily accessible from either the fork roads leading to Saintsbridtige or the Weeping Peninsula. This area can be found to the east of Stormveil Castle and to the west of the Scarlet Rot-ridden Caelid (South Limgrave).

East Limgrave does not have a Legacy Dungeon due to the fact that it is a subregion. In addition, the region does not contain any moderately sized dungeons. From the Siofra River Well, which is located right next to the Minor Erdtree in East Limgrave, you can get into the underground area of the Siofra River.

East Limgrave Map Fragment Location

It is necessary to acquire three Map Fragments from the Steles in West Limgrave, East Limgrave, and the Weeping Peninsula in order to uncover the specifics and topography of the entire Limgrave region. These Map Fragments can be found in West Limgrave, East Limgrave, and the Weeping Peninsula, respectively.

In the vicinity of the Minor Erdtree in Mistwood is where you will find the East Limgrave Map Fragment. Moving further south along the main road away from the Third Church of Marika will bring you closer to the Stele, which will be near a large bear that is rubbing against a tree.

East Limgrave World Bosses and Invasions

Due to the fact that East Limgrave is such a small part of Limgrave, there is only one boss that can be fought there: the Tibia Mariner, who can be found in the Summonwater Village.

East Limgrave Merchants and NPCs

Limgrave is a region in which you can find various friendly (or seemingly friendly) faces that you can find and speak to, and even buy and sell with to obtain one-of-a-kind wares. This can be done as you travel around the region of Limgrave.

The Nomadic Merchant can be found in East Limgrave in two different places: the first is to the east of Saintsbridge, and the second is to the south of the Minor Erdtree. Both of these locations are in East Limgrave.

D, Hunter of the Dead is a non-player character (NPC) that you will meet for the first time when you go to the Summonwater Village for the first time. He will also mark the location of the village on your map with a scarlet “x,” indicating that it has been taken over by the undead. The completion of this Field Boss’s quest will result in him moving permanently to the Roundtable Hold once he has been vanquished.

Kenneth Haight – Kenneth Haight is a self-proclaimed next ruler of Limgrave. You’ll find him east of the Mistwood Outskirts Site of Grace, perched atop some curved ruins that have been repurposed as a bridge. He will give you the assignment to clear out Fort Haight and vanquish the knight commander who is currently residing there.

Blaidd is the name of the long figure that can be seen howling from its perch atop the Mistwood Ruins. If you talk to Merchant Kale about it, he’ll give you a way to summon the strange half-wolf, half-man named Blaidd. Blaidd seems to be trying to hunt down a specific foe that you may already have encountered at the Forlorn Hound Evergaol, so be sure to head back there to continue his story. Merchant Kale is located in the Forlorn Hound Evergaol. After you have defeated Bloodhound Knight Darriwil inside the gaol, he will present you with a Somber Smithing Stone as a reward. However, this will not be the last time you encounter the half-wolf.

If you helped the Living Jar get out of his predicament in West Limgrave, you can find him again in East Limgrave, in the hidden rear entrance to Gael Tunnel. This is only possible if you helped the Living Jar in West Limgrave. Because of this, neither of you will be able to continue the journey to Caelid beyond the Site of Grace. He has become disoriented along the way. If you enter Caelid and proceed into the miniature dungeon, you will have the opportunity to unlock the door and assist him on his journey (although he will make it to the tournament regardless).

East Limgrave Points of Interest

Even though East Limgrave is a relatively small sub-region, it is home to a large number of landmarks and attractions that can transport you to other parts of the Lands Between. Additionally, this region is an excellent place to scavenge for supplementary materials and additional pieces of gear, allowing you to improve your preparation for the journey that lies beyond Limgrave.

If you click on a location of interest, you will be taken directly to the sections that provide a more in-depth explanation of that location, including the foes you will face and the secrets you can find.

Summonwater Village

Summonwater Village, which is the first point of interest in East Limgrave, is the only location in the region where a boss, known as the Tibia Mariner, can be encountered. If you continue east of the main road from Saintsbridge, you will eventually find yourself at this abandoned village.

You’ll also run into D, the Hunter of the Dead, who will give you advance warning of the boss. As long as you are using Torrent, the fight against the Tibia Mariner is not too difficult. If you can keep up with him while he teleports, you should be able to take him out of the fight relatively quickly. To enter the Bestial Sanctum in Caelid, you will need to bring the Deathroot that you obtained from the boss to location D in the Roundtable Hold.

Be sure to look around the village for more loot besides what’s already there. You can gain access to a hidden cellar below ground by using a Stonesword Key to retrieve a Green Turtle Talisman from within.

Summonwater Falls

A pack of wolves can be found living near a waterfall that is situated due south of the village of Summonwater. They are currently engaged in combat with a Runebear in this area. It is in your best interest to sidestep them and retrieve the Smithing Stone 2 from the corpse that is close by.

Artist’s Shack

The Artist’s Shack is an abandoned shack in Elden Ring that contains a variety of paintings and serves as a point of interest multiple times throughout the game. This particular ruin holds the “Homing Instinct” Painting, which can be deciphered at the Seaside Ruins, which are located close to the starting location in West Limgrave.

For additional information on how to solve each painting, please refer to the section of our wiki titled “Painting Locations and Solutions.”

Third Church of Marika

The Third Church of Marika can be found on the main road that runs alongside Mistwood, which is located to the south of the Summonwater Falls. In addition to the opportunity to acquire a Sacred Tear, visitors to this Church of Marika will also have the chance to acquire a Flask of Wondrous Physick along with a Crimson Crystal Tear. Both of these items can be found in other Churches of Marika.

If you stay off of the main road, you should be able to avoid running into the Troll that is wandering around the church. It is imperative that you travel to the area to the north of the church and climb some rocks in order to kill a Scarab that is guarding an Ash of War – Sacred Blade.

Mistwood Outskirts

Right next to the primary thoroughfare is where you’ll find this particular Site of Grace. It’s located just in front of the Third Church of Marika. Kenneth Haight can also be found in this area, perched atop the curved ruin that functions as a bridge.

There are Demi-Humans and Wandering Nobles that roam the area beneath the bridge. They can be found here. In addition, you can loot a copy of Fervor’s Cookbook 1 in this location.

Mistwood Watering Hole

Due to the high concentration of Runebears in this point of interest, it may prove to be difficult to navigate for players of lower levels. You can acquire quite a few things here, such as the Nomadic Warrior Cookbook 4 and the Map Fragment for East Limgrave. The latter can be found along the main road close to a Runebear that is scratching a tree. There is also a Runebear that is scratching the tree.

Mistwood Ruins

The Mistwood Ruins are located to the southwest of the Map Stelle and can be found hidden among the trees and vegetation in the area. If you investigate the spectral candelabra that is located close to the watering hole, a spectral NPC will guide you to these ruins.

This ghost NPC will frequently vanish, but before it does, it will leave glowing footprints behind for you to follow. If you want to avoid getting too close to the Runebear that is rubbing its claws against the tree, you should avoid following his tracks in a direct line and instead follow him from the opposite side of the main road until you have passed the Runebear.

The entrance to the subterranean storage area is being obstructed by the presence of a second slumbering Runebear within the ruins. After you have finished fighting them with your summoning ashes, you can safely roll down to the basement, where the Runebear won’t be able to follow you. The Runebear won’t be able to follow you down there. Feel free to pillage the Axe Talisman, and then make your way out of here in one piece.

In addition, the Mistwood Ruins are the location from which the Blaidd Questline can be initiated. As you investigate the ruins, you may become aware of a distinct howling coming from the direction of a character who is perched on top of the ruins directly above you. If you want to bring him down, you might want to talk to Merchant Kale, who is located in the Church of Elleh in West Limgrave. He might know the solution you’re looking for.

Mistwood Cemetery

The stone cemetery can be found at the most southwestern point of East Limgrave. Outside of the typical Skeletons and Miranda Flowers, there aren’t that many foes to be found in this area. You have the opportunity to plunder a Sacrificial Twig from one of the dead bodies that are resting on top of the stone caskets.

Minor Erdtree

This Erdtree, which is one of two Minor Erdtrees in Limgrave, can be found right next to the Siofra River Well, which is located just to the left of the Map Stelle for the area. However, because this one does not have an Erdtree Avatar boss, you are free to loot both the Spiked Cracked Tear and the Greenspill Crystal Tear without fear of being attacked.

Make it a point to locate the white scarab that is located somewhere close to the tree; it is hiding an Ash of War – Ground Slam inside of it.

Fort Haight

When you first met Kenneth Haight, he told you about a certain fort, and that fort is this one. In order to complete this quest, you will have to eliminate every foe that is located within Fort Haight. Because of this, you should be prepared to face a wide variety of monsters within this area, ranging from the standard Soldiers of Godrick and Commoners to a Godrick Knight and a Pumpkin Head.

You’ll need one half of an important item later on in your journey, so be sure to make your way to the top of the fort and loot the chest there. You’ll be rewarded with the Dectus Medallion (Left), which is half of an important item. When you have finished retaking the fort that was overrun, head back to Kenneth in the Mistwood Outskirts to collect your reward and the Erdsteel Dagger. You have the option to use fast travel to return to Fort Haight and speak with him once more. He will tell you that he will hold a festival in your honour, but it’s possible that this will never happen.

East Limgrave Scarab Locations

As you make your way through this area, you might come across a few scarabs dashing off in different directions. Some of them will refill your flask of tears, but others can reward you with unique items, including the following:

Artist Shack Scarab

The reward is one solemn Smithing Stone.

You can find a scarab along the cliff edge to the west of the Artist Shack, which is located on the border between East and West Limgrave. If you travel along the cliffs that are above the Murkwater canyon, you will arrive there.

Caution is advised, as the scarab will detonate once it has been killed.

Third Church of Marika Scarab

Ash of War – Sacred Blade is the reward for your hard work.

You can find this scarab along the winding path that climbs the cliffs behind the ruins of the Third Church of Marika, which is located near the east central side of East Limgrave. To get there, you will need to leave the church and cross the shallow river that is in the area.

East Limgrave Minor Erdtree Scarab

As a reward, you will receive Ash of War’s Ground Slam.

When you search the large Minor Erdtree in East Limgrave, you will find a large number of Red Teardrop Scarabs, which you can use to refill your flask. However, if you explore the woods to the south of the tree, you will find a second silver scarab that is guarding an Ash of War.

East Limgrave Secrets

Even though this region is much smaller than West Limgrave, there are still a few secrets for you to uncover throughout it, such as Sending Gate teleporters and access to new regions.

Siofra River Well Access

A diminutive structure with a dome can be found in the Mistwood area not far from the Map Stele. This conceals an elevator that will transport you to an entirely new location, the Siofra River, which is located very deep underground. It is somewhat riskier than Limgrave, so you should probably grab the Site of Grace below and make a plan to return after you have cleared Stormveil Castle. Check out our Siofra River Walkthrough for more information in the event that you decide to proceed further and investigate this enigmatic underground ruin.

Sending Gate to the Bestial Sanctum

You may already be aware of this, but there is a hidden portal in East Limgrave. If you assisted D, Hunter of the Dead near the entrance to this region, you may already know where to find it. It is difficult to spot because it is hidden among the shrubs at the end of the river falls that runs past the Third Church of Marika, and it is hiding in plain sight.

Using this teleporter will send you very far to the east, into Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow, which is the most dangerous part of Caelid. A peculiar beastman cleric named Garranq can teach you bestial incantations in exchange for the deathroot that can be obtained from Those Who Live in Death, such as the Tibia Mariner world boss. The sanctum is, thankfully, (mostly) safe. Caution is advised if you decide to venture beyond the safe confines of the sanctum…

The Hole in the Earth

You won’t notice this change in the landscape the first time you travel through East Limgrave, but later in the game, after one of the Demigods has died, a meteor will fall to the ground, changing the landscape in a way that you can see. In East Limgrave, close to Fort Haight, there is a huge crater in the region that was formerly south of the Mistwood Ruins. You can find it if you travel back to that area.

This enormous chasm allows access to a previously inaccessible region of the Siofra River Well, which is known as Nokron, the Eternal City, and is vital to the progression of the questline for one particular character.
