Elden Ring Guide – Consecrated Snowfield – Dungeons, Points of Interest, and Secrets

The Elden Ring is completed with Consecrated Snowfield as the final region. On this page, you will find an overview of the region, which details the primary dungeons, bosses, loot, and secrets that can be discovered in this area.

The lower western plains of Mountaintops of the Giants contain a region known as Consecrated Snowfield. This desolate area is located there. There is only one way to enter this area, and that is to retrieve both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion and then raise it in the Grand Lift of Rold. There is no other way to enter this region.

Your visibility is significantly impaired across almost half of the Consecrated Snowfield due to the persistent blizzard that exists there. You won’t be able to get an unobstructed view of the rest of the region until you reach the frozen river.

The Consecrated Snowfield is the final region in the game, but it conceals entrances to two important late-game areas—Palace Mohgwyn’s and Miquella’s Haligtree—despite the fact that it is the final region in the game.

Consecrated Snowfield Map Fragment Location

You will need to locate three Map Fragments in the Steles that can be found in the East and West Mountaintops of the Giants, as well as in the Consecrated Snowfield, in order to uncover the specifics and topography of the entire Mountaintops of the Giants region.

When you find all three of these Map Fragments, the map of the Lands Between will be fully completed, and you will be able to see the entire overworld of Elden Ring.

After navigating your way through the blizzard and across the frozen river, you will arrive at a Stele where the Consecrated Snowfield Map Fragment can be found. The Teardrop Scarab is invisible to the pack of wolves that are chasing it, and the Stele is nearby.

Consecrated Snowfield Roaming Bosses and Invasions

This region is home to a number of world bosses that can be encountered outside of dungeons. Some of these bosses freely roam certain areas, while others will remain hidden until you approach them to a certain distance, at which point they will emerge. In addition to this, there are multiple scripted invasions carried out by NPC humans that will engage you in combat. Simply selecting a Boss to investigate further will reveal more information on how they can be defeated.

Consecrated Snowfield Minor Dungeons

A few Minor Dungeons can be found dotted across the snowy landscape of Consecrated Snowfield. These dungeons range from a catacomb that is connected to the Grand Lift of Rold to a dungeon that is hidden in a snowstorm. These areas can be completed in any order, and at the conclusion of each one is a miniboss that guards a treasure trove of great value. Simply click on any of the dungeons in the list below to read the detailed walkthrough and strategy guide for navigating that dungeon and discovering all of its secrets.

Consecrated Snowfield Merchants and NPCs

There is neither a merchant nor an NPC that you can engage in conversation with in this part of the Mountaintops of the Giants, just like in the other half of that region. On the other hand, there is a non-speaking NPC named Phillia the Albinauric who can be found in the location that serves as the conclusion to the Latenna Questline.

Phillia the Albinauric is a colossal Albinauric woman who resides within the Apostate Derelict during the night. You can put an end to the questline by summoning Latenna in front of her, at which point you will be given a Somber Ancient Smithing Stone as your reward.

Consecrated Snowfield Points of Interest

During the course of your travels, you will come across a variety of interesting locations, enemy camps, and other points of interest in the region known as the Consecrated Snowfield. Each location has something that is interesting enough to warrant exploration, despite the variety of foes and treasures that can be found there.

If you click on any of the points of interest, you will be taken to the sections below that provide a more in-depth explanation of that particular point of interest, including the foes you will face and the secrets you can find.

Consecrated Grounds

This unmarked location extends from the Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace all the way into the snowstorm and includes broken pillars. After discovering the grace site for the first time, proceed westward until you find the stone coffins. Soon, you’ll be able to make out the sounds of chains being dragged across the ground, which is a good indicator that the Rotten Duelist is nearby. When fighting him, be careful not to get too close to the edge of the cliffs because falling will result in instant death.

After being defeated, the Rotten Duelist will drop both his helm and his Rotten Battlehammer. You should now return to the Site of Grace and continue along the main path heading north. Even though the snow has covered the path, you should still be able to find your way by following the Wandering Nobles who are carrying torches. The Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook number 23 ought to be close by, resting on a dead body that is lying by the road.

Moving Caravan 1

The first Moving Caravan of the area departs from the same path where the Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook 23 can be found, just a short distance to the north of where it can be found. Proceed to the northwest from the dead body until you reach the blizzard and find the broken pillars. Be wary of the Albinauric Wolfback Archers that are roaming the area; they can present a challenge, especially given the persistent snowstorm that is occurring. You should be able to find a Golden Seed near the central pillar in the middle of the area.

Stay on the main road and keep moving; the Moving Caravan may be difficult to spot, but the Trolls that are dragging it should give away their location. Because this caravan is not very well guarded, you should climb on the back of it and rob the chest to get the St. Trina’s Torch.

Follow the path that leads to the northwest until you come across a group of Wandering Nobles, one of whom is attempting to assist another who is half-buried in the snow. It turns out that the half-buried pilgrim is actually a Runebear in disguise. When the Runebear is killed, it will leave behind a Larval Tear as a drop. Be sure to stop by the Site of Grace in the Inner Consecrated Snowfield, which is located a short distance to the northwest of this location.

Moving Caravan 2

Continue travelling to the west from the Site of Grace in the Inner Consecrated Snowfield until you reach a large open field. Wait just a moment, and the Moving Caravan ought to be coming in the direction of you within the next few moments.

The final Moving Caravan in the game is going to be a difficult obstacle to overcome because it is guarded by powerful foes and two bosses that roam the area. However, the two Night’s Cavalry will only spawn alongside the Moving Caravan during the night, so it is imperative that you approach this point of interest during the evening hours.

If you get close enough to one Night Cavalry and lure it away from the caravan, you can fight the bosses one at a time as long as you grab its attention without alerting the other. You can do this without using any ranged spells or arrows if you get close enough to one Night Cavalry. The Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone is dropped by one of the Night’s Cavalry, while their entire armour set is dropped by the other one.

Take out the remaining members of the caravan and open the chest to retrieve the Flowing Curved Sword.

Albinauric Rise

Ride your horse in an easterly direction from the Inner Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace until you reach the Albinauric Rise. You should run into three Schools of Graven Mages as you make your way there. They will be surrounding a dead body that is holding the Glintstone Craftman’s Cookbook 8. From that vantage point, it shouldn’t be too difficult to reach the tower.

The riddle of The Albinauric Rise is one of a kind due to the fact that it can be solved in two different ways.

In order to complete the first solution, you will need to eliminate an imp located at the base of the tower while the Fanged Imp Ash spirit summon is active. You will need to bring 2,000 Runes to purchase this Spirit Ash from an Isolated Merchant located inside the Raya Lucaria Academy.

The second option is to make the two imps that are located at the back of the tower fight each other by employing either a Bewitching Branch or Crystal Darts on one of the imps. This will cause them to kill each other.

After you have broken the seal, you need to go inside the tower immediately, regardless of which solutions you choose to implement. To obtain the Graven-Mass Talisman, which is positioned atop a stack of crystals, you will need to ascend to the highest floor.

Frozen Waterfall

After descending the Albinauric Rise to the frozen river, continue moving eastward until you reach the frozen waterfall. Additionally, the entrance to the Cave of the Forsaken is not too far away from this location.

As you get closer to the waterfall, the Great Wyrm Theodorix will soon appear, and you should get ready for a boss fight. Along with its enormous sword, the Great Wyrm Theodorix, a formidable adversary, possesses the ability to unleash destructive magma breaths. Upon being vanquished, it will leave behind three Dragon Hearts as loot. You will also have the opportunity to acquire the incantation of Theodorix’s Magma from the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid.

After you have vanquished it, do not exit the location just yet. To get to the other side of the waterfall, start on the right side of the waterfall and jump along the ledges. There is a dead body up there, and it’s holding an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone in its hand.

Minor Erdtree

The Minor Erdtree that has been frozen over can be found directly above the Cave of the Forlorn. Either by climbing your way up the snowy ridges or by using the Waygate that is located on the hill to the east of the Albinauric Rise, you can arrive here.

This Minor Erdtree is watched over by a Putrid Avatar. Because Erdtree Avatars and the Putrid-variant are vulnerable to fire, you should consider employing an attack or weapon that makes use of flames in this fight. After it has been defeated, it will drop the Ruptured Crystal Tear.

Inner Consecrated Snowfield

An additional unmarked location, the Inner Consecrated Snowfield, can be found all the way across the epicentre of the region. You can reach the Consecrated Snowfield Map Stele from the same Site of Grace by travelling across the frozen river until you reach it. You should be able to retrieve a Smithing Stone 8 from the dead body that is located behind the large tree.

You need to get closer to the frozen river; there should be a pack of wolves there chasing what appears to be an invisible Teardrop Scarab. To obtain the Ash of War – White Shadow’s Lure, you will need to kill both of them and the scarab.

From there, move slightly to the west until you reach a trigger for an NPC Invasion. The NPC Invader known as Anastasia, the Tarnished-Eater can be found in Limgrave as well as on the road that leads to Mount Gelmir. After this fight, you won’t see her again, but she’ll leave behind a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone if you take advantage of the opportunity.

Yelough Anix Ruins

Ride to the west from the location where you found the second Moving Caravan, and you’ll arrive at the Yelough Anix Ruins in no time. Go to the southeast first, where you will find the enormous snow pillar, before you investigate the ruins. You are close enough to hear the singing of an Ancestral Follower; follow the sound until you come across two of them guarding a body that is holding the Stalwart Horn Charm +1.

You need to return to the Yelough Anix Ruins and make your way to the structure in the middle. There is an entrance to the underground area that is completely enclosed by walls on all sides. There are two different entry points available.

The first strategy is to entice one of the Trolls and convince it to use its ability to destroy the walls so that you and Torrent can ride over them without having to dismount.
You could also make use of the building in the middle that is immediately adjacent to it. Perform a double jump inside the entrance while simultaneously climbing the broken walls to the south.

The sorcery known as “Unendurable Frenzy” can be found in the underground chamber. This is the same spell that the Trolls who guard the ruins are able to cast. From the room below ground, ascend to the surface, and head to the building that is the farthest to the north. There is a Stonesword Key housed within a small building that is guarded by a few Frenzied Rats.

West Consecrated Snowfield

The Yelough Anix Ruins are the starting point for the ride that will take you directly north to this unmarked location. The West Consecrated Snowfield is an essential location for gaining entry to Mohgwyn Palace, which is a subterranean region situated beneath Caelid.

You will be attacked by the NPC Invader Noble Sanguine as you approach the enormous pillar in the middle of this location. Not only will he leave behind the entire Sanguine Noble Set, but he will also activate the Waygate in the area, which will allow you to teleport to Mohgwyn Palace when you defeat him. The entrance to the Waygate can be found to the west of the invasion, between two broken pillars with sloping tops.

Apostate Derelict

The Apostate Derelict can be found at the very tip of the Consecrated Snowfield in the far northwestern corner. From the location where you battled the Sanguine Noble NPC Invader, travel to the north until you come across the Wandering Mausoleum. The journey to the Apostate Derelict will be significantly more difficult as a result of this Wandering Mausoleum because it will fire magical artilleries at the area around it.

You should work as quickly as you can to bring down the Wandering Mausoleum. You will be relieved to know that its skull deposits are situated on its legs, which means you can avoid its magical attacks by simply ducking underneath it.

Despite being the final church in the game, the Apostate Derelict does not offer very many things for players to do once they enter it. Phillia, a colossal Albinauric woman who is the capstone of Latenna’s Questline, can be found inside. You will receive a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone after completing the brief dialogue that follows the Summoning of Latenna’s Spirit Ashes. Inside the wrecked church, you’ll also be able to find the Silver Mirrorshield.

The Death Rite Bird is a wandering boss that can be found at the beginning of the frozen river to the east of the church. It spawns when night falls. Upon being vanquished, it will leave behind the Explosive Ghostflame sorcery.

Ordina, Liturgical Town

You will need to port to the Inner Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace and then travel northward until you reach the Site of Grace for the town of Ordina. Only then will you have successfully arrived in Ordina. To solve the mystery behind Ordina, the Liturgical Town, you must first go to an Evergaol and then place candles atop four different statues dispersed throughout the area. Only then will you be able to access its hidden area.

Before venturing into Ordina, it is strongly suggested that you equip the Sentry’s Torch, as doing so enables you to see enemies that were previously invisible that were roaming the town. You will need 7000 Runes to purchase one from the Hermit Merchant located in the outskirts of the Capital City.
It is not necessary for you to possess the necessary statistics in order for the effect of the Sentry’s Torch to take effect. It is also possible to equip the torch while dual-wielding your right-hand weapon, and the effect of the torch will still take effect in this case.
You can enter the town stealthily if you make use of Soft Cotton or the Black Knife Set. Both of these items are available in the shop. The latter can be found at the bottom of the winding staircase that descends from the Evergaol to the room that has been sealed off.

From the town’s Site of Grace, ascend the two sets of stairs that are directly in front of you, then turn left; the Evergaol will be on your left, right next to the Imp Statue. After you’ve gained access, make your way down to the town square from the Evergaol. Be on the lookout for a Black Knife Assassin patrolling the area; these assassins are incredibly agile but can be knocked down relatively easily. The first statue can be found smack dab in the centre of the area.

The second statue can be found atop one of the primary buildings in the centre. From the first statue, head west until you reach the stairs leading to the western part of town. From there, continue to the next statue. The ladder is tucked away in a tight corridor, and the only way to access it is by hopping along the railing. Climb up that ladder and the next one; pay special attention to the Albinauric Archers as you make your way up to the roof; unlike the other statues, this one is visible from the ground.

The third statue can be found by descending the Evergaol and travelling to the westernmost part of the town. Behind the structure in question is a trespassing ladder that can be climbed (look for a blue-flame torch). To find the third figure, you will need to climb that ladder as well as the next one.

The Albinauric Archers will make it extremely difficult for you to reach the fourth statue because they will pelt you with arrows as they pursue you. Climb the first ladder coming out of the building in the westernmost position (third statue). Find your way to the Albinauric Archer in the middle of the room; you should be able to run and jump up to her roof. Once you have gotten rid of her, continue to run and jump until you reach the balcony that has the ladder on it. As soon as you make it onto that roof, immediately climb up and get into a crouching position. Two Albinauric Archers will begin shooting at you, so do your best to get an angle to heal and get ready for the next move.

From this vantage point, the target you want to aim for is the one on the left. You can either charge her or shoot your arrows, sorceries, or incantations at her. Climb the ladder that leads to the final figure, which is located next to her. Once you do that, light the candle, and the seal will be broken.

The room that has been sealed off to the outside world contains a Waygate that will take you to the beginning of Miquella’s Haligtree.

Consecrated Snowfield Scarab Locations

Consecrated Grounds Scarab

  • Reward: Somber Smithing Stone 8

This Scarab can be found atop a sizable rock pillar that is located to the northeast of the Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace. It is only a short distance away from the location where you can find the Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook 23, which contains 23 recipes.

Inner Consecrated Snowfield Scarab

  • Reward: Ash of War – White Shadow’s Lure

This Scarab can be found on the opposite side of the frozen river from the Site of Grace in the Inner Consecrated Snowfield. While it is invisible, you are able to see a pack of wolves chasing after it.

Minor Erdtree Scarabs

  • Reward: Somber Smithing Stone 7, Somber Smithing Stone 8, Somber Smithing Stone 9

You can find three Teardrop Scarabs perched atop different rock formations just to the west of the Minor Erdtree that is located in this area. You can either use Torrent to climb up onto these rocks or you can simply attack the Scarabs from a distance with ranged attacks such as spells, arrows, etc.
