Where to Find Rya
The best place to look for Rya is to the north of the Laskyar Ruins, right next to the telescope icon on the map. She will be positioned so that she is facing the statue from its right side. If you talk to her, she will explain that someone stole her necklace and ask you to find the perpetrator so that she can get it back.
In order to accomplish this, keep travelling in a northwesterly direction from the telescope icon until you reach Boilprawn Shack. After having a conversation with the Blackguard by the pot, you will be given the choice to either leave or to request that he give you the necklace.
If you select “give me the necklace,” he will ask you to demonstrate its value and provide payment before accepting it from you. You can accept or refuse. If you do not agree, then we will have to end this conversation. If you decide to accept his offer, he will ask for one thousand runes in exchange for the necklace.
Once you have returned the necklace to him, you will be able to continue your conversation about Rya. In addition, you will be able to purchase Boiled Prawn from him, which will increase your resistance to physical damage.
Return to Rya
It is your responsibility to return to Rya and hand the necklace to her. In exchange, she will extend an invitation to the Volcano Manor to you. In addition to that, she will instruct you to travel to the Altus Plateau and tell you that you are more than welcome at the Volcano Manor.
If you continue talking to her, she will tell you about the Dectus Lift, which will take you to the Altus Plateau, and she will also tell you about a shortcut through the ruins that connects Liurnia to the Altus Plateau.
After Activating the Grand Lift of Dectus
The Altus Plateau will be accessible to you once you have raised the medallion necessary to operate the Grand Lift of Dectus. As you leave, Rya will be located on the left side of the doorway. This is where she will extend an invitation to visit Volcano Manor. If you take her hand, she will teleport you to the location you specify.
At Volcano Manor
Even if you get to Volcano Manor before you see Rya and give her the necklace back, you’ll end up running into her there anyway. As you progress through the assassinations that are a part of the Tanith Questline, she will vanish after each one that you complete. It would appear that you will be unable to advance Rya’s questline if you do not locate her again before finishing the Tanith Questline. Because of this, it is important that you complete Rya’s quest before completing the assassinations at Volcano Manor.
Speak to Rya After the First Volcano Manor Assassination
You can ask Rya about it, and she will tell you that sometimes she hears strange sounds coming from behind the walls. After this, Rya will relocate, and you can find her in the room that is directly across from the drawing room (the second door on the right). At this point, Rya will have transformed into her true form, that of a serpent.
She will tell you that only she and Tanith know her true form and her real name, which is Zoraya, and that only they can reveal this information to others. Tanith is someone you can talk to, and she will encourage you to treat Rya with kindness if you do so.
After Defeating the Godskin Noble
You will be able to retrieve a Serpent’s Amnion from the Temple of Eiglay after you have vanquished the Godskin Noble there.
It is recommended that you go back to Rya and speak to her again, as she will have returned to her human form here. You will be able to talk to Rya once more after you have successfully carried out the second assassination for Volcano Manor. You will have the choice here of either telling her the truth about Volcano Manor or handing her the Serpent’s Amnion. Both of these options are available to you.
Visit Tanith and have a conversation with her about Rya’s or Zoraya’s predicament. Take some time to relax at the Site of Grace, then revisit Tanith to discuss Rya’s and Zoraya’s absence. She will hand you a “Tonic of Forgetfulness” and ask you to deliver it to Rya in exchange for a favour.
How to Find Rya Once She Leaves the Volcano Manor Room
You will have to travel to the Temple of Eiglay in order to locate Rya after this. Ride the lift all the way to the top floor, and when you get there, step out onto the balcony. As you make your way around the balcony, keep an eye out for a ledge on the right side where you can perform a jumping manoeuvre.
You can ascend to another part of the manor by following this path, which leads up to it. Continue in this direction, but watch out for the abductor virgin who will be coming around the next corner.
You should be able to see an archway in the distance that is located across a lava river (to the right of it, there are snake head statues sticking out).
Follow this path until you reach a spot with a small room off to the right; that’s where Rya is hiding. If you talk to her, she’ll ask you to kill her if you don’t. You have the option of either carrying out this action, of giving her the potion, or of not giving her the potion.
