ABOUT:
The Pure White/Pitch Black Video Challenge is a special challenge for the Pokemon Pure White/
Pitch Black ROM hacks. Its purpose is to not only test your skill as a trainer, but also to
test your determination and endurance. Players who complete the challenge can expect to win
prizes for their efforts.
RULES:
*You must have a Youtube Account and the ability to create videos of your battles. You may
use either your DS or an emulator. You can use a video recorder or screen recorder to
record your battles. Popular screen recorders include Hypercam and Camtasia.
*You may not use any hacks or codes. Hacked Pokemon are any Pokemon that have been generated or
modified with a program outside of the actual game including Action Replay, PokeSav, and PokeGen.
This includes Pokemon that have been modified within the legal limits of the game (31 IVs in all
stats with perfect natures, etc.)
*You may not use any Pokemon not obtained within Pure White or Pitch Black. This includes
Pokemon obtained in all other Pokemon games and other ROM hacks, as well as the Dream World.
*You may not use any Pokemon or items not yet available at your current point in the game. For
instance, Braviary cannot be found until Route 10, so you cannot use it before you reach that
area.
*You may not use any legendary Pokemon with more than 600 Base Stat Total except for the last
two challenges of each section (vs. N and Ghetsis for the Story, and vs. Team Plasma Grunts
and Morimoto for the Post-Game). Regigigas is the only exception.

*Beating all six Riches trainers will add 60 points to your point total.
POINTS
It’s not just about beating your opponent. It’s about HOW you beat them. That’s why there is a
Point System with this challenge. Simply beating your opponent will earn you 30 pts. But beating
your opponent with additional handicaps will earn you “Bonus Points”.
BONUS POINTS
*Winning while entire team is underleveled: +5 points
This means that every Pokemon in your team has a lower level than your opponent’s weakest Pokemon.
Example – if you’re fighting Brycen, your entire team must be Level 58 or lower because Brycen’s
weakest Pokemon is at Level 59. Gaining levels during the actual battle is fine.
*Winning with less than 6 Pokemon: +5
You can have a Level 100 Pokemon and five Level 1 Pokemon and that would still count as 6 Pokemon.
You must have 5 Pokemon or less to gain this bonus.
*Use 5 or less healing items during battle: +5 points
Healing items are any items that restore lost HP or cure status, including Revives. Held items and
PP-restoring items do not count.
*Not using held items during battle: +5 points
Held items are any item that has an effect only when held during battle. Lucky Egg, Macho Brace,
Power Items, EXP. Share, and Amulet Coin do not count. Also items that can be held but do not
have an effect in battle (such as Potions) do not count.
*Not using weather moves or auto-weather abilities: +5 points
This means you cannot use the moves Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Hail, or Sandstorm, or the abilities
Drizzle, Drought, Snow Warning, or Sandstream.
*Using unevolved Pokemon: +5 points
Unevolved means any Pokemon that has the ability to evolve. You must use a least one to get
this bonus. You cannot get this bonus until after the 3rd Gym.
Note that Bonus points are optional and you can choose which bonus points you want to get for
each battle. You can gain a maximum of 30 bonus points total.
PENALTIES
Breaking any of the rules in the Rules section will earn you penalties. Breaking any rules once will earn you
a warning. Breaking any rules twice will subtract -100 Points from your point total. Breaking any rules three times will disqualify you from the entire challenge.
PRIZES
When you finish all 28 challenges, your points will be totaled and the prizes you can recieve will
depend on your total amount of points.

*Shiny Non-Legendary Pokemon – Complete all Story Challenges with minimum of 560 points (average of 35
points for each challenge)
You will get a shiny non-legendary Pokemon to be traded to your game. Please ask for a list of
available shinies.
*Shiny Legendary Pokemon – Complete ALL Challenges with minimum of 1120 points (average of 40 points
for each challenge)
You will get a shiny legendary Pokemon to be traded to your game. Please ask for a list of
available shinies.
*Art Request – Complete ALL Challenges with minimum of 1260 points (average of 45 points for each challenge)

*During the Elite 4 Rematches, each Elite 4 member will have two Pokemon that counters the types they are weak against.
